See you on the Dark Side of the News

After months of violent fighting between Israel and Hezbollah, a sea blockade was finally lifted from Lebanon.

Seven members of UK Prime Minister Tony Blair's government have resigned as a form of rebellion to the policies of the Labour Party.

The Mexican presdential-elect, Felipe Calderon called for unity, trying to end weeks of national protests.

Protests also continued in the Sudan against rising prices for basic goods and also despite a crack down by riot police and other Security forces.

But perhaps most importantly, Suri Cruise was unveiled during Katie Couric's CBS News debut. Holy fucking shit! How can you even stand it? How long have we been waiting?

Amidst allegations of the new "tomkitten" being either not real or strangely disfigured, Tom Cruise and Katie Holmes bravely fought the pressures of the papparazzi and showed the public long awaited pictures of little Suri. I can hardly contain my excitement!

With all the problems in the world, it's so wonderful to have such good things happening for good people. Tom and Katie can surely just feel the love that they receive in return for their openness and honesty when it comes to their 8 month old child, as well as the rest of their personal lives. For them to allow us into their homes, in such a way as to increase the public's happiness, makes them saints and nothing less.

And of course, there's praise to be given to Katie Couric too. Far be it from her to begin her career at CBS with a publicity stunt, she put her nose to the grindstone, got down and dirty, and dug out the knitty-gritty of some hard hitting and serious news. She and her crack team of researchers should be extremely proud that they didn't stoop to the depths of tabloid television.

There is really no more that I can say to express my love and pleasure for the entire situation. My heart is warmed and is likely to stay that way for quite some time. Perhaps even three minutes!

So the next time you're going to be tossing around epithets and rumors about such a terrific group of human beings, just sit down, and think to yourself how Tom would act in such a situation.... then go jump on a fucking couch. This blog is brought to you in living, breathing, fabulous Technisarcasm.
