Fergie, formerly of the Black-Eyed Peas, is straight from the street (wut, wut!). Sesame Street that is. Apparently she teamed up with the creative minds from the Children's Television Workshop to make her latest solo album. The purpose? To teach spelling to the busy youths who comprise her audience.
Turns out those 13-24 year olds don't have the time to devote to their studies that they should. Or perhaps they are just too lazy. Whatever the ultimate reason, they are falling behind in such vital areas of education; and as once happened with Schoolhouse Rock, the idea came about to teach while entertaining.
How else could you explain Fergie's recent jaunt into the world of spelling through song? In her lyrics, we learn not only is Fergie "Delicious" and "Glamorous", but those adjectives are spelled for us right within the chorus. Repetition is certainly the road to memorization; and with every pop radio station playing these songs every 15 minutes, we can be assured that her fans will be able to spell AT LEAST those two words.
They'll still be fucked when it comes to spelling "Tastey" though. It's T-A-S-T-Y you moron! Even The Pillsbury Doughboy knows that; and he consists solely of flour, water, and yeast. I just can't wait until Fergie does a remake of "1, 2, 3, 4, 5...".
This blog is brought to you today by the letters "B" and "Z" and the number 27.
