Disney practically has no redeeming value. Not because it will violently defend any minute portion of anything it may
have the copyright to. Not because many of its movies tend to take traditional stories and “family valu-tize” them
with lovely, happy songs; or commercialize them with strange, unnecessary animal sidekicks like a purple otter, or a goofy
tarantula, that can easily be made into a plush toy, or stuffed in a Happy Meal. And not because they create a crack-like addiction with their products. “Buy Bambi before it goes back into the Disney vault! Buy three! What if one breaks in the next 14 years? You'll miss out! It'll be in the Disney vault! We have no control over the Disney vault!”
Nope, none of those reasons. The real reason Disney has no redeeming value? It’s boring! Now I will say that the
Disney animation is top notch; and some or their newer films are much better than in the past. But, Disney has
never been as good as Warner Brothers cartoons. Now, when I was little... we didn't get the Disney channel and I thought I
was missing out. Then once a year, there it would be! Free Disney! It would be free for about a week, and I would
realize, it sucks! Mickey Mouse is not funny. You watch a Mickey Mouse cartoon and he's eating a pear or tying his
shoes, something boring. I mean with Warner Brothers you get anvils, and dynamite, and good old Acme action! Meanwhile,
Donald Duck plays ping-pong for three minutes. Yawn...
